After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Negrey attended the Wharton Graduate School of Business but decided to change careers and become a physician. He received a Masters Degree in Microbiology at the University of Pennsylvania and taught high school science before entering Temple University’s School of Medicine.
Dr. Negrey interned at Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center, then completed his military service before entering Wills Eye Hospital for his residency and fellowship in ocular plastic surgery. Before retiring from the teaching staff at both Wills Eye Hospital and Jefferson University, he had risen academically to an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology. He established, also, two primary care ophthalmology offices in Havertown and Media. Dr. Negrey is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology, Past President of Philadelphia Ophthalmology Club, Delaware Valley Ophthalmologic Society, and Former Chief of Ophthalmology at Delaware County Memorial Hospital.
His special interest is glaucoma. He consults in all areas of ophthalmology utilizing his vast experience to provide opinions and solutions for patients with ocular problems.
Dr. Negrey’s special interests outside of ophthalmology are participating in the development of his eight grandchildren, travel, and an occasional round of golf.
He is indebted to his wife and children for their support and encouragement in developing the practice. Of course, the success of our practice can only be made possible with the exceptional loyalty and experience of his superb staff.
